Beverly Leann Ward passed away at her residence on Easter Sunday, April 20th 2025, after a life defined by hard work, strong opinions, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of home.
She was born Sept 21, 1952 in Fairbury, IL to the late Edward Ward and Lila Garmon Dawson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Beeler; her son Eddie Lewis; and her brother Chuck Ward.
As a young woman, she was full of energy—cheerleading on the sidelines and knocking down pins at the bowling alley. Her competitive streak and lively spirit followed her throughout life, always up for a good conversation, especially if it touched on politics. She had a sharp mind and wasn’t afraid to speak it, which often made for memorable debates and meaningful talks.
Beverly worked at Fire King in New Albany for over 30 years, dedicating herself fully to her job and taking pride in a job well done. She believed in staying busy and was rarely one to sit still—unless she was relaxing in the comfort of her own home, where she found peace in familiar routines and quiet moments.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Michelle) Lewis, Desiree (Bret) Bierly, Gary Alexander (Taneisha) Bearden and Brian Lewis; her brothers Rube and John Ward; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and will be remembered by those who knew her well.
Per her wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A committal service will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at a later date, where Beverly will be placed in the columbarium wall with her beloved Paul, finally reunited in rest.
