Cynthia Louise Swanson, aged 63, of Vine Grove, KY, passed away in Elizabethtown, KY, on Tuesday, November 6, 2024. Cindy moved to Vine Grove, KY, after marrying John in 2012. In California, Cindy managed a chiropractic office and owned and operated a gourmet line of pet food. In Kentucky, she worked as a teller for Meade County Bank. Cindy was very active with her church family.
Born on July 6, 1961, in Lakewood, California, Cindy was a ballerina for over 20 years and always had a passion for animals. Cindy rescued countless critters over the years and gave them the love, life, and respect that they deserved.
Cindy was a true patriot who loved Veterans and the United States of America. In the last selfless act of her life, she donated her beautiful red hair to Locks of Love, and she was an organ donor.
Cindy is survived by her husband, John J. Swanson; her oldest brother, David “Red” Chadsey of California; her youngest brother, Jamie Bird and his wife Jennifer, niece, Ella, and nephew, Nigel, all of Boise, Idaho.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Greg Bird of California.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with a Celebration of Life at 11:00am. This will be followed by a meal in the Family Life Center, all at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church, Brandenburg, Kentucky. Pastors Lynn Beach and Trevor Bates will officiate the Celebration of Life service.
Cremation has been chosen by the family, and Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
