Danny Lee Ernst, age 75, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville.
He was born on February 11, 1949, in Louisville, KY, son of the late William Lee Ernst and Minnie Lee Watson.
Danny graduated from Male High School and obtained his Bachelors in Economics from the University of Louisville. He was an avid sports fan and refereed both youth and high school soccer and basketball for many years, and was a member of the Male High School 50 Year Club. He was a Deacon at Beechmont Baptist Church in Louisville before moving to Brandenburg and becoming a member of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Danny sang in the choir at his church and was proudly involved in the Brothers in Christ organization, where he truly exemplified “Love in Action”. He served his community with pride, had a kind soul and a massive heart, and showed the love of Christ in the words that he spoke and the actions that he made. He loved the Lord, and he loved people. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lee Ernst; sons, Chris (Amy) Ernst and Sam Ernst; and one granddaughter, Josie Ernst.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church from 10:00 A.M-3:00 P.M. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 P.M. with Bro. Lynn Beach officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
