David Estill Fackler

David Estill Fackler, age 82, of Webster, KY, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Norton’s hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on July 22, 1941 in Webster, KY, son of the late Henry Estill Fackler and Susie Nina Clark Fackler. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Aloysius Fackler; Kenneth Ralph Fackler, and Marvin Eugene Fackler; brother-in-law, Merlin Barr; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fackler.

David was a lifelong member of St Mary’s Catholic Church and a US Army veteran, where he served as a security policeman. He was a very talented builder and was known for his ability to fix anything. He not only used those talents to design and build houses, but also worked for the Meade County School System as their head of maintenance before his retirement. David was a hobby farmer and enjoyed tending to his cattle. He was a hard worker, and was dedicated to everything he did. David was a loving husband, dad, granddad, and great-granddad, and took pride in his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Ruth Ann Fackler; children, Rebecca Ann “Becky” (Ronald) Barr of  Rhodelia, and David Owen “Davy” (Dianna) Fackler and Robert Charles “Robby” Fackler, both of  Webster; sister, Mary Madeleine Barr of Louisville; brother, Robert Daniel Fackler, Sr., of Payneville, KY; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lois Fackler; grandchildren, Timothy (Mindy) Padgett, Ryan Barr, Matthew Fackler, and Jenny Fackler; and  great-grandchildren, Molly, Alex, Caraline, and Hudson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM EST at St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Church in Payneville, KY with burial to follow in the St Mary’s Cemetery. A prayer service lead by Deacon Greg Beavin will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 6:00 PM at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon funeral home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the St. Mary Magdalen Church Cemetery fund (P.O. Box 110, Payneville, KY 40157).
