Dennis Lee “Denny” Redmon, age 66, of Payneville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 1, 1957, in Louisville, KY, son of the late Charles “Tubb” Redmon and Stella Hartley Redmon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Redmon.
Denny was a man of genuine character and had a servant’s heart. He retired after 43 years of service from the Riverside Stone Co. Quarry in Wolf Creek, KY. He was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Church. Denny loved the Lord and was always a helping hand with church activities, especially frying chicken for the church picnic. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and was a big supporter of his grandchildren’s sports team, the Salem Lions. He attended every game he could. Denny was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, Papaw, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Joan A. Redmon; sons, Adam (Shawnee) Redmon of Salem, IN, and Phillip (Lindsey Hardesty) Redmon of Wolf Creek; sisters, Teri (Bruce) Nevitt and Donna (Stanley) Knott, both of Payneville; grandchildren, Ellie Redmon, Marissa Redmon, Makenzie Redmon, Ryan Redmon, and Remi Redmon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends and church family.
Visitation will be Friday, October 11, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa of Avila Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM EST at St. Theresa of Avila Church in Rhodelia, KY, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
