Donna Gayle Stewart, 76, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her residence.
Donna dedicated her life to the noble profession of education, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students over the years. Her passion for teaching was only matched by her commitment to her faith community at Crossroads Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY. Donna's interests were rooted in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed her weekly card games with friends and she was committed to teaching children’s Sunday School at her church. Most of all she enjoyed her family more than anything, finding joy in the laughter and stories shared when she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Stewart; her parents, Donald & Ruby Skeeters Baker; and a sister, Judy Pearsall.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by two children, Carol Gayle Gardner & her husband, Ben, Clay Stewart & his wife, Ashley; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin & his wife, Brianna, Annelise, Ezra, Reese; one brother, Ken Baker & his wife, Agnes; and a host of extended family & friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home, 769 Highland Ave., Vine Grove, KY and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025 Crossroads Baptist Church, 801 North Black Branch Rd, Elizabethtown, KY.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stewart will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Crossroads Baptist Church, 801 North Black Branch Rd, Elizabethtown, KY with Dr. Rob Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow in the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crossroads Baptist Church Missions Fund.
