Fire devastates Irvington apartment building

On Wednesday, April 9, at 5:42 pm CST, a dispatch for the Irvington Fire Department to respond to a fire at the Park Place apartment complex on Landon Lane in Irvington. It would ultimately be a fire that would affect 12 units in the building.
According to the Irvington Fire Department, it would take until about 6:48 pm to get the fire under control. IFD was assisted by McDaniels Fire, Webster Fire, Custer Fire, Harned Fire, and Hardinsburg Fire, with 77 firefighters and 25 fire trucks working to control the blaze. There were no human fatalities, and three cats and three dogs were rescued. Unfortunately, there was one animal fatality. Breck Central EMS, Breckinridge County Animal Control, Breckinridge County Sheriffs Department, Irvington and Hardinsburg Police Department, and Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but the State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the scene today. The residents of the building were put up in a Brandenburg hotel, with the Red Cross assisting the nearly 30 individuals displaced by the fire
