Gaylord Eugene Duley, 92, of Laconia, Indiana, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon. He was born April 17, 1932, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Herbert and Gladys Saulman Duley. He was retired from INDOT, was a member of Grace Tabernacle in Laconia, was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Jean Chancellor Duley; and his brother, Farrell Wayne Duley.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jackson Duley; his daughters, Brenda King (Darrell) and Diane Nichols (Robert); his stepdaughters, Laura Decker and Elizabeth Turner (Chris); his stepsons, Doug Embry and Jeff Decker (Ann); his brother, Bill Duley (Phyllis); his sister in law, Velera Duley; eleven grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Gary Decker will officiate. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Derick Ashley, Andrew Knear, Jackson Turner, Chris Turner, Cheyenne Conn, and Doug Embry. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Decker and Tom Funk.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Otterbein Cemetery.
