Patricia "Pat" Ann (Fleming) Heibert, age 85, of Ekron, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on October 20, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, to her late parents, Susie Kathryn (James) Fleming and Warner Elsworth Fleming. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wayne Heibert, one sister, Donna Sue (Fleming) Kirk and two great grandchildren, Ben and Emma Pierce.
Pat was known for her contagious smile, sweet disposition, and artistic talents. Above all, she was deeply loved by her family and friends. She always expressed gratitude for the long, full life she led, filled with cherished memories and the company of her family.
A proud graduate of Shawnee High School in Louisville, Kentucky, class of 1957, Pat received an art scholarship to the University of Louisville but chose instead to marry her sweetheart, Wayne, and begin their family. Pat worked for many years in office and clerical positions at Prudential Bache but found her greatest joy in raising her children. She often referred to them as her "six great kids" and was incredibly proud of them. She was affectionately known as Mom, Mommy, Mudder, and Mammaw by her children and grandchildren.
Pat was a master in the kitchen, always ensuring everyone had plenty to eat. Her famous chicken and dumplings, homemade spaghetti sauce, and “wheat fudge” (also known as no-bake cookies) will be fondly remembered by all who enjoyed them. Her creativity extended beyond the kitchen to the world of arts and crafts, where she was skilled in drawing, painting, and sewing. One of her favorite pastimes, however, was shopping, and until just a few years ago, she could outshop her daughters and granddaughters, always searching for that perfect bargain at Belk or Kohl’s.
She was a member of St. John the Apostle Church in Brandenburg, KY, where she also volunteered her time to the church’s quilting club and bereavement committee.
Pat is survived by her children: Teri (Aaron) Pierce, Kenny (Vickie) Heibert, Kelly (Kevin) Medley, Mark (Ronda) Heibert, Robin (Todd) Lancaster, and Craig (Amie) Heibert; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
