Mr. Perry Douglas “Doug” Hardesty, age 46, of Battletown, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his residence. Doug was born on July 22, 1978, the son of Perry Kent and Patricia Lucille (Reesor) Hardesty. Doug worked as an industrial mechanic for Kosmos Cement for 21 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed many hobbies that included hunting, fishing, farming and working on cars. His family could usually find him piddling or sharpening his knives. Most importantly, Doug loved his family and he especially enjoyed spending as much time as he could with this granddaughter, Everleigh, who was his pride and joy.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Hardesty; five children, Tyler (Kelsey Rose) Hardesty, Madalynn Hardesty, Chelsey (Steven) Berryman, James (Danika) Constant, Jr. and Jacob Sellers; his granddaughter, Everleigh Hardesty; two brothers, Albert (Selena Thomas) Hardesty and Justin (Katie) Curl; 11 nieces and nephews, Brayden, Bailey, Garrett, Kypton, Kellen and Oliver Curl, Aubree Greenwell, and Hayley, Ashley, Aaron and Allan Hardesty; two cousins, Renea (Brad) Stout and Greg (Jody) Meeks; and his brother-in-law, Nathan Meredith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
