Ruth Ann (Singleton) Addison, age 81, of Wolf Creek, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, joining her husband, Elijah Addison Jr., in the arms of the Lord.
She was born March 19, 1943, to the late Lawrence Albert Singleton and Fayme Nell Pleasant. Along with her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers, and a grand-daughter, Fayme Kristin Bullock.
Ruth was a God-fearing woman and a lifelong member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church. After graduating from Meade County High School in 1961, she worked at Bacons before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She later worked as a nanny for the Melloy family and then as an office manager. Ruth was a mother to everyone and dedicated her life to her family.
She loved canning, cooking, fishing, gardening, and tending to her roses. Ruth enjoyed playing cards with her children and made family her top priority. Her nurturing spirit and devotion to those she loved were at the heart of everything she did.
Ruth is survived by her children, Fayme (Shane) Embry of Hardinsburg, Kevin Lee (Shellie) Addison of Guston, and Kathy Ann Addison of Ekron; sisters, Eunice Pollock and Ethel (Terry) Newton; six grandchildren, Stacy Pullen, Joshua Bullock, Ashley Rhyne, Brooke Nolen, Jordan Addison, and Rebecca Voeltner; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home and continue the following morning from 9:00 – 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Brother Tom Bridge will officiate. Burial will follow in Parr-Frans Cemetery.
